New advancements in strip club lingo
I just coined (ha ha) the phrase "Make it hail" to refer to "making in rain", as in a strip club, but using dollar coins. Though this is not appropriate for this blog, I wanted to record it somewhere on the internet for posterity and to contribute to the development of the English language.
EDIT: Counting drafts, this is my 5000th post. Also, someone else came up with the phrase but referring to small change. Alas.

Bad movie reviews - Blue Velvet
So I recently watched Blue Velvet at the urging of a friend by the name of Jimmy. A classic from 1986, when men were men, women were women, and I was 2.
It was pretty sweet, pretty strange, and had a pretty lady who didn't always have clothes on (Isabella Rossellini). According to my friend, I'm apparently supposed to be Jeffrey, which is all sorts of disturbing. But it could be worse, he has a good heart, a head on his shoulders, and a sense of adventure. Something to shoot for, though I'm not sure getting intimate with young ladies and older ladies at the same time is a good life plan.
Next up - Eraserhead.

Prolife roundup
A Finn is getting things going
Earlier this summer Dr. Räsänen caused an uproar in Europe when she used a speech at a Lutheran Church conference to call for a discussion on abortion in her country. And Mrs. Fischer points out that many times ultrasounds that indicate fetal abnormalities are, well, BS, but people abort based on them.
Dr. Räsänen compared abortion to “butchery” and said that animals are better protected under Finnish law than unborn human beings.
Ever had a prenatal ultrasound? Ever had a false diagnosis based on that ultrasound? In the course of nine pregnancies, I sure have. Doctors have told me the baby’s development was weeks behind gestational age; that there was a life-threatening hematoma forming; that the baby’s organs were forming improperly.A fine idea. The comments on her post are also excellent.
...
Anyone want to start a blog or website called Theytoldmetoabort.com? I’m picturing something very simple: people submit their brief descriptions of why their doctors told them they ought to abort, and then post a picture of the child they decided to give birth to. Here’s what they said; here’s how it turned out.

Somewhere to go
Raskolinkov and Marmeladov:
"Why do you go?" put in Raskilnikov.
"Well, when one has no one, nowhere else one can go!. For every man must have somewhere to go. Since there are times when one absolutely must go somewhere!"
