A torch

The Times writes, somehow with a straight face
This particular norm is of paramount importance because the court’s institutional legitimacy depends on its perceived separation from the elected branches — a fragile concept in the best of times. By tying the latest appointment directly to the outcome of the election, Mr. McConnell and his allies took a torch to that idea — an outrageous gambit that, to nearly everyone’s shock, has paid off.
I don't know of one person who imagines, after what's gone on in the past decade, that the judicial branch of the government is anything more than another tool for the exercise of power.

And F D R took a torch to that idea a long long time ago.

Want to help back up the internet?

Run Archive Team Warrior! Just requires some bandwidth and Virtual Box. I'm always afraid of forgetting everything, so this is great. Also read A Canticle for Liebowitz and The Name of the Rose while running it for optimal gains.

Achewood comes to a second end!

Alas. But apparently I've missed a story in the blogs?

Win16 game emulator!

Now this is pretty neat.
A couple of weeks ago I upgraded my partner Jen’s PC to 64-bit Windows. It all was going well until she went to play some Windows 3 card games that she enjoys when we realized that 16-bit programs don’t work on Windows x64.
