Someone tell Ed Peters that he is awesome
Because he is. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen so much ink spilled accusing a man of being wicked for simply pointing out a rather obvious application of Church law.
I have the feeling that few of the people castigating him would have objected to St. Ambrose's actions after the massacre at Thessalonica.
