Mark Shea's ruminations on the Alito affair
I still don't quite understand how senators can ask judges how they would rule on cases that might come before them. That's usually seen as unethical, as I understand it, but in this case it's seen as unethical not to answer it. Have they actually thought about this, or are they just so defensive at legal abortion that they don't care?
