Bloody St. Patrick
Why exactly is this?
Perhaps it's just a pet peeve of mine, but I don't like it when people say something is obvious and then don't justify it. Mostly because, it's not obvious to me.
The Irish probably preyed upon women and children as their captives and may have killed many adult males who would put up more resistance in transit. Patrick in his Letter described the young Christian girls whom Corotius's men had dealt out amongst themselves, whilst the other converts presumably men) had been killed. The thousands of prisoners described by Patrick as having been taken prisoner with him are an obvious exaggeration although the Irish must have overpowered the occupants of his estate. An obvious exaggeration? Were you there?
Perhaps it's just a pet peeve of mine, but I don't like it when people say something is obvious and then don't justify it. Mostly because, it's not obvious to me.
