Some SSPX sanity
MENZINGEN, Switzerland, JAN. 27, 2009 (Zenit.org).- Bishop Bernard Fellay, superior-general of the Society of St. Pius X, publicly apologized for statements regarding the Holocaust made by one of the society's bishops, and reported that the prelate has been forbidden to speak further on the issue.
Bishop Richard Williamson, in an interview taped in November, but aired last Wednesday on Swedish television, claimed that historical evidence denies the gassing of Jews in Nazi concentration camps.
Better than nothing.

Doomed to death?
A little over eight years ago, my niece heard these words from a woman, "I will not bring this child into the world." The woman was not an expectant mother, she was my niece's OB/GYN. At five months into her pregnancy, an ultrasound revealed my niece's child had no apparent brain matter . . . . Many experts advised termination of the pregnancy.
. . .
Today, this young boy attends second grade, is preparing to make his first communion, sees and comments on the beauty that surrounds him . . . he is a thriving little person deserving of care. Ultimately, he is a child of God, deserving of the special place in this world that God intended for him.

Unfortunate phrasing
A section heading from "Genesis 12-50 (Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture: Old Testament, Volume II)
", p. 219
Sort of reminds me of the end of Mass:
Priest - "The mass is ended, go in peace"
Congregation - "Thanks be to God"
I'm sure some people in the congregation are more of the mind "Thank God it's over" as opposed to "Thank God we were here".
", p. 219
For the time being the Church is lame
Sort of reminds me of the end of Mass:
Priest - "The mass is ended, go in peace"
Congregation - "Thanks be to God"
I'm sure some people in the congregation are more of the mind "Thank God it's over" as opposed to "Thank God we were here".
Inane quote of 2008
I'm so glad that store went out of business. I shoplifted from there once and they caught me and I've hated it ever since.
